From Young People

Can I attend a BBMC event on my own?

Not unless you are over 18. If you are under 18, you must be accompanied by a leader from your BB Company or Battalion.

I used to be a member of the Boys' Brigade and enjoyed outdoor activities such as DofE Expeditions, mountain walking and rock climbing. Can I join the BBMC to further develop my outdoor skills and help other young people to enjoy developing their own outdoor skills?

Yes. All ex-members of the Boys' Brigade and the Girls' Association are welcome to join the BBMC and we would particularly encourage them to further develop outdoor skills and pass these on to other young people. To do this you will need to be over 18 and will have to register as a leader with the Boys' Brigade, so that a Disclosure and Barring Service check can be carried out.

If I attend a BBMC meet with an Officer from my Company who wants to go on a mountain walk, can I rock climb with BBMC Leaders?

Yes. Providing your parent/guardian has given consent for you to go rock climbing with the BBMC, your Officer is happy for you to do this and ratio of climbers to Leaders is not too high.
