Adventure Camp '26

The BBMC are offering another Adventure Camp from Saturday 1 - Saturday 8 August 2026 at the BB West Midland District Camping Centre at Dyffryn Ardudwy in North Wales.

We are aware that a large number of young people in the BB no longer have the opportunity to attend a summer camp under canvas or a camp that provides exciting adventure activities.  There are a number of reasons for this.  Many BB leaders, no longer have the campcraft qualification or other skills to organise such a camp, or are perhaps not able to take a whole week off work, and there seems to be no opportunity for young people to attend such BB camps without their leaders.  Additionally, many companies are not large enough to organise their own camps and do not own camping equipment. This 7-night camp, at a fully equipped BB campsite, will hopefully address all of these problems. If leaders are not free to attend the camp, their young people could attend without leaders from their company (assuming that we have enough leaders at the camp to cope with this and that they can be dropped off and picked up by leaders or parents). The BBMC will arrange a programme of adventure activities (mountain walking on the Rhinogydd mountains) as well as more traditional camp activities, including spending time on the glorious beach and sand dunes at Dyffryn and swimming in the sea and activities provided by CMC Adventure.

The fees for the 2026 Adventure Camp are expected to be in the region of £200 for young people and BB leaders who want to do the CMC activities and £140 for BB leaders who do not want to do the CMC activities.

A Highlights video of the camp can be viewed on Facebook and links to a highlights video and a Facebook reel from our 2024 camp can be found on our News page.
