The BBMC is holding a 3-night meet to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Club's founding in 1965. The weekend is at the end of the October half term holiday for most schools, so most young people should be free to travel to North Wales on Thursday.  For anyone who cannot arrive on Thursday, it will be possible to stay two nights or even one night.

The event will be open to BB young people and registered leaders and will be held at the University of London Mountaineering Club's Caseg Fraith Hut near Capel Curig in Eryri (Snowdonia), which is only 1 mile away from the campsite where the first ever BBMC meet took place at Easter 1965.

Qualified BBMC leaders will lead mountain walks on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, hopefully with some scrambling, on the Glyderau (which has some of the weirdest rock formations in the UK) and the Carneddau mountains, easily accessed from the hut.

Any groups or individual leaders attending will be required to self-cater in the hut's well-equipped kitchen, bringing all their own food, including any hot or cold drinks, etc.

Every person attending will be expected to have sturdy boots, warm clothes (including a hat and gloves), a water bottle, a day sack and good waterproofs (jacket and trousers).

The fee for staying at the Caseg Fraith Hut will be £12 per person per night, plus £5 per vehicle per night for parking.  Only 8 parking places available at the hut, which will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis. Further cars can be parked 3/4 of a mile away on the A5 by Little Tryfan and drivers can be ferried back and forth from there when required.

If you require any further information about the weekend, the hut or anything else or want to book places, please contact us via .bbmc@boys-brigade.org.uk.
